Featured Speaker: Anita Gale
Associate Technical Fellow for The Boeing Company
Anita Gale is the first female Associate Technical Fellow for The Boeing Company in Houston, and is responsible for Payload and Cargo Integration on the Boeing Commercial Crew Vehicle, after over 30 years of experience in Space Shuttle Payload & Cargo Integration. She champions payload interface standardization and cargo containerization for space vehicles, and earned three U.S. patents. She mentors young engineers, both formally and informally.
Anita’s volunteer activities include creating and conducting Space Settlement Design Competitions for high school students since 1984. The Competition has evolved into an International activity that requires annual travel to India, the UK, and other destinations; and correspondence with a global network of Regional Coordinators. Many students claim that the Competition experience spurred their interest in pursuing engineering and science careers.
Anita serves on the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Space Colonization Technical Committee, is serving her second term as a member of the National Space Society Board of Directors, and is an Executive Committee member of NSS.
Anita earned both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington, and a Certificate in Systems Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.
